one community, many voices.

BikeSA is proud to champion the interests of people who ride bikes across South Australia. But real change doesn't happen alone. It happens when we ride, speak up, and push forward together.

Every day, we represent cyclists in state and local government strategy sessions, road safety forums, and infrastructure planning groups. But strong advocacy starts with community voices. That's where you come in.

How you can
make a difference

Speak up during consultations:
When councils or governments seek feedback on roads or urban planning, take the time to respond, and encourage others to do the same. Your voice shapes what gets built.

Report problems, and progress:
Spot a pothole, unsafe intersection, or broken bike lane? Report it to your local council, relevant state government department, or your MP. And if your area gets it right, say thanks. A message to your local councillor or a shoutout on social media can help keep cycling on the agenda.

Stay connected:
We regularly share open consultations, safety issues, and advocacy campaigns via our newsletter - make sure you're subscribed.

There's no single path to better bike infrastructure. But we do know this: when we ride and advocate as one community, our voices carry further.

groups

Bicycle User Groups (BUGs) are local groups of people working to make cycling safer and easier in their neighborhoods. Most Bicycle User Groups are linked to a council area and often collaborate with councils on bike paths, safer streets, and cycling support.

Joining a BUG is a great way to connect with fellow riders and get involved in local advocacy.

BikeSA is working to connect more closely with BUGs across SA. If you are already in one or want to start one, we would love to hear from you!
